In one of the newsletters I get 3 times a week they have a “fascinating fact” added at the end, this one jumped out at me today so I thought I would share -
Do you know where Polar Bears live?
To help you remember, the Greek for ‘bear’ is ‘arktos’,
so the name for the place where the bears live is the
Arctic.
‘Anti Arktos’ means ‘no bears’. Hence the Antarctic.
Thanks to Martin Avis at Kickstart Daily for that, and for publishing the only newsletter I actually read every time it enters my inbox!
