Copyright

I found a site whilst browsing redbubble (thankyou yanmos!) that helps with the copyright issues us website owners / photographers / creative people have. You know… with people thinking everything they see online they can use.

I don’t want people to use my work unless they have paid to do so through the stockphoto sites I belong to but at the same time I want my work available at zazzle, redbubble and to be able to post new pics on my blog.

Here’s a snippet from the myfreecopyright website -

“MyFreeCopyright.com provides a third-party, not-repudiation, registered dating of your original digital creation. By using this service, you publicly associate your digital copyright and defined rights to you.”

Basically what you do is submit your website url or upload your work whether that’s a photo or poem or whatever and you get an email with the date/time registered so you can “prove” it’s your work.

So I know some people are still going to take my photos or use my content but this might help deter them.

From past experience myspace is the place I have had most trouble with people taking my card images and using them in people comments and as profile pics etc but that’s another story and mostly fixed now!
