Saturday night I watched the whole 4hours of Pangea Day live online.
I wasn’t sure if I would watch all of it… Usually I am browsing around online while doing other things but not this time, I was totally hooked!
What is Pangea Day? Well Pangea was the big continent of the world before it split up all those millions of years ago. You know… when Africa was attached to Europe and Europe was attached to the U.S… or something like that anyway!
So basically Pangea day is the day when the world comes together. To understand that we are not so different after all… They were broadcasting live from multiple places - U.S, U.K, Egypt, India and more so it really did bring the world together for a few hours.
There were lots of videos and people talking… all really rather amazing. It’s certainly opened my mind.
Videos and talks included an ex child soldier, soldiers of Iraq and Palestine meeting each other (with no weapons!) and realising war is not the way. A look at planet earth from a different point… Plus so so so much more.
All of the videos and an hour of the show are availabe at the Pangea Day website if you are interested… or even if you are not interested… I think everyone should watch a few minutes if not longer just to see if it opens your eyes.
