Back on Etsy

I’ve been keeping this quiet as I wanted to get a few cards listed before I said anything but… I’m back on Etsy!

Concentrating on the art greeting cards right now – But also have ideas to do painted ATCEO’s plus when I get back to England I have blank canvases awaiting me… May also do framed pieces as well…. We’ll see!

I had a time at Artfire but didn’t like the limits they put on the free version – and for the paid version… I see no point in it when I still have the website. So yes, back to Etsy part-time as a hobby!

The emelegifts site? I still don’t know… I have paid advertising on there at the moment so don’t want to take the site down totaly but I do need to do something with it… remove some old pages. Perhaps link to my Etsy items… Yea, still as undecisive as ever when it comes to what to do with it as I just don’t know!

Artfire Store

Wohoo, back already – Looks like the automatic update worked so I didn’t have to fiddle around moving files via ftp. Yay, that’s saved me a whole hour!

Anyway… I’ve slowly been setting up my artfire account and have added a few Christmas cards (all one of a kind) so you’d all better head over there now to take a look – Emele at Artifire.

It’s kinda just a holding place for the cards this winter since Emelegifts is still closed. After Christmas I think I *might* reopen my Etsy store as well… and perhaps have some items in both? Not totally sure about that yet!

Don’t ask me what I’m going to do with the Emelegifts site as I still havn’t decided…

If I’m not going to craft “full time” and just keep it as ” a hobby” I don’t reallllly need a big website do I?… But I can’t just totally delete it from cyberspace… ‘cos it’s my baby.

Maybe just keep it as a gallery and point people to Etsy / Artfire etc? We’ll see!

Cushion Making

I’ve made myself an “elbow cushion” to stop my poor elbows from getting sore from leaning on the table where I work away on the laptop all day.

I’ve not really done much sewing before… I can sew a button on and occasionaly alter tshirt straps if they are too long for me. But a cushion… That was new uncharted terrotory for me!

But it’s turned out fine - See! Very pleased with myself especially as it is hand sewn… Corners are a little bit scruffy…. and the end where the stuffing went in… But not bad for a first attempt I say.

I can see me making cushions for the Dannyland home next! – No point in buying if you can make

Keychains

I made these key-chains last week… I’ve had the keyring blanks for years (I rediscovered them when I was sorting all my stuff out!). They have offcuts of my abstract watercolor paintings inside along with a sequin star and bead tassel on the purple one and a tulip shape on the greenish/blue one.

I won’t be adding these to Emelegifts as they are a little scratched from knocking around my cupboard for years… So I think I’ll just keep them all for meeee! Maybe in the future I’ll make some to sell though…

I have also started on a heart paper project… more about that soon! But I think it’s safe to say my crafting mojo is back.

Kitty Toy Pattern

Look what I’ve found! A cute fabric cat pattern – yours for free from Wee Wonderfuls

I have got to make one! Since I won’t have any cats with me when I move the next best thing seems to be one of these cuties – He (or she… or several of them) can sit on my desk in the dannyland home and it will be just like old times with the kittens sat on the table peering at me over the top of the laptop!

Oh yes, sorry havn’t filled you all in on my plans – They have suddenly become more… real and concrete and “oh my god can we really do this” – You see, I’m going back to England… all ‘cos of a boy… at the end of May, when hopefully it won’t be as cold, wet or grey!

Sneak Peeks

Hmm well technically it is still August and I said the site would be back up and running then but i’m actually thinking September would be better. I want to change hosts in the next couple of weeks and i’ve never done it before so I don’t know how much down-time there will be hence better to reopen emelegifts when all that technical stuff is out of the way.

In the meantime I have been creating stuff… it’s the creative spell that’s stopped me reopening the site earlier… I keep thinking of new things to make and add to the site you see and getting all inspired to go in different directions… cept I can’t split myself into 5 people to go each way I want to which holds me back.

Now imagine me writing this post with a kitten chewing on my fingers. We have gained 2 kittens and are now upto 7 or 8 cats since I last did a “cat post”… Hmm photos are needed to introduce everyone I think. But first I’ll get back to making and redoing the site!
